Chery Ute Naming Competition | Phase 2 – Public Voting

Following Phase One of the Chery Ute Naming Competition, Chery Motor Australia invites the public to vote for their favourite shortlisted name for the world’s first diesel plug-in hybrid ute and go in the draw to win one of three (3) x $1,000 gift cards.

By participating in this competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
 

1) Promoter

The Promoter is Chery Motor Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 662 958 205) of Building F, Suite G.02, 1 Homebush Bay Drive, Rhodes NSW 2138.
 

2) Promotion Period

The promotion opens at 10:00am AEST on Tuesday 5 May 2026 and closes at 11:59pm AEST on Thursday, 21 May 2026 (the “Promotion Period”).

Entries received outside the Promotion Period will not be eligible.
 

3) Eligibility

3.1 Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or over at the time of entry.

3.2 Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter and any agencies, suppliers, dealers or companies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.

3.3 The Promoter may require entrants and/or the winner(s) to provide proof of age, identity and residency. Failure to provide suitable proof may result in disqualification.

3.4 Participants who submitted a name entry during Phase One of the competition are eligible to participate in Phase Two, provided they meet all other eligibility criteria and are not one of the ‘Finalists’ on the shortlist.
 

4) How to Enter

4.1 To enter, eligible participants must, during the Promotion Period:

  • visit the Chery Motor Australia website.
  • vote for their preferred shortlisted name for the upcoming Chery ute.
  • provide their full name, email address, and any other required contact details. 
  • agree to these Terms and Conditions.

4.3 Entry is free. Entrants are responsible for any costs associated with accessing the entry mechanism (e.g. internet or mobile charges).

4.4 Entries must be received by the Promoter during the Promotion Period to be valid.

4.5 The outcome of the public vote will be taken into consideration by the Judges as part of the final evaluation process of the Ute Naming Competition but will not be determinative. The final winner will be determined by the Judges based on the judging criteria. The Promoter retains final discretion over selecting the winning entry.
 

5) Prize Draw – Game of Chance

5.1 This is a game of chance. Skill plays no part in determining the winners.

5.2 Three (3) winners will be selected by random draw from all valid entries received during the Promotion Period.

5.3 The draw will take place at Chery Motor Australia, Building F, Suite G.02, 1 Homebush Bay Drive, Rhodes NSW 2138, on or before 28 May 2026.

5.4 The vote cast by each participant does not influence the random draw; participation in the voting is the mechanism of entry into the prize draw.

5.5 All decisions of the Promoter regarding the draw are final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
 

6) Prize

6.1 There are three (3) prizes on offer. Each prize consists of one (1) x $1,000 gift card (total prize pool value: $3,000 AUD).

6.2 Each winner will receive one (1) gift card only. No winner may receive more than one prize.

6.3 Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.

6.4 If for any reason beyond the Promoter’s control the nominated prize is unavailable, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value, subject to any applicable legal requirements.

6.5 Winners are responsible for any taxes or charges associated with receiving or using the prize.
 

7) Winner Notification and Publication

7.1 Winners will be notified by email or phone using the contact details provided at the time of entry within seven (7) days of the draw.

7.2 Winners’ names (and suburb/state) may be published on Chery’s website and social media channels and may remain published for a period of up to twelve (12) months.

7.3 If a winner cannot be contacted, fails to respond or claim within fourteen (14) days of notification, or does not meet the eligibility requirements, the Promoter reserves the right to conduct a redraw and award the prize to an alternative eligible entrant.
 

8) Winner Verification and Prize Claim

8.1 Winners must respond to the notification within fourteen (14) days.

8.2 The Promoter may require winners to provide proof of identity, age and Australian residency before the prize is awarded.

8.3 Winners may be required to sign a winner declaration and release form. Failure to do so within fourteen (14) days may result in forfeiture of the prize and a redraw.
 

9) Data Collection and Privacy

9.1 By entering this competition, entrants consent to Chery Motor Australia collecting, storing, using and disclosing their personal information for the purposes of:

  • conducting and administering this competition.
  • remarketing and direct marketing by Chery Motor Australia, including sending electronic communications, newsletters and promotional offers relating to Chery products and services.
  • any other purpose described in Chery Motor Australia’s Privacy Policy.

9.2 Entrants consent to the Promoter contacting them via email, phone or other digital channels for marketing and promotional purposes. Entrants may opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in any communication.

9.3 The Promoter is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Personal information will be handled in accordance with Chery Motor Australia’s Privacy Policy, available at https://cherymotor.com.au/legal/privacy-policy/.

9.4 Entrants may direct any requests to access, update, correct or delete their personal information to the Promoter. Entry is conditional on the provision of personal information.
 

10) Publicity and Marketing

10.1 Winners agree to participate in reasonable promotional activity in connection with the competition and prize, including being named on social media and digital channels.

10.2 The Promoter may use the winners’ names, suburb and state for promotional purposes in any media for up to twelve (12) months from the date of the draw to the extent permitted by law.
 

11) Competition Permits

This competition is a trade promotion lottery as a game of a chance. Based on the total prize pool of $3,000 AUD, no permit requirements apply.
 

12) General Terms

12.1 If this competition cannot run as planned for reasons beyond the Promoter’s control (including technical failures, virus, tampering, fraud or other causes beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control), the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend, modify or terminate the competition.

12.2 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any problems or technical malfunction of any communication network, or for any late, lost, incomplete, corrupted or misdirected entries, whether due to error, omission, tampering, technical failure or otherwise.

12.3 To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including direct or consequential loss) suffered in connection with this competition or any prize.

12.4 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

12.5 These Terms and Conditions should be read in conjunction with the Terms and Conditions for Phase One of the Chery Ute Naming Competition.
